South African township art, urban art, and recycled craft, some of it inspired by the anti-apartheid struggle or day-to-day survival in the post-apartheid era (and a common 'language' in multi-lingual townships).

nice stuff--there's a store here downtown called Craft Caravan that's been selling the recycled stuff for ages

very cool collection of links, plep! I love love love recycled art... I am particularly partial of late to the telwphone wire baskets which can be quite beautiful.
