If you dig this I recommend the In Rainbow Roads album by on4word (Radiohead's In Rainbows with the SM64 Soundfont)

One of the few examples of where the cover is better than the original.

If you liked JauntyFedora's link also check out Massive Attack's "Teardrop" in the style of Goldeneye 007.

Somehow, this feels more Mario than Nirvana, and I expected it to be the other way around. That's the power of timbre.

This also feels very "early internet" to me. One of my first encounters with the Internet was my friend gopher'd down a Enter Sandman .mod file to his Amiga. He then replaced the synth guitar sample with Homer Simpson saying "Beer" and played it back. It totally worked.

Now that I think about it, today in 2023, I still make music by playing samples back at different speeds.
