Time-Warner to Bob Pittman: "You is my bitch." (NYTimes) Merely another indicator, albeit an entertaining one, that the big media mergers (hello, Vivendi) are in big trouble.

I read that whole article, like, twice, and I never saw the phrase, "You is my bitch." in there. I demand a refund.

The Wall Street Journal (or New York Times) would be much more entertaining to read if they put a pimp-speak filter on quotations from corporate spokespeople. Too bad they didn't work that into their latest redesign, along with the Alan Greenspan centerfolds.

Who wants to bet what the golden parachute will be worth? 20 million?

i'm thinking golden parachute values may be dropping these days (although pittman prolly won't be hurting for rent). the story on worldcom's do-nothing CEO led me to that assumption.

Don't worry. If he gets fired as the AOL chief, he still has a 2-year consultancy to AOL (see page 22). That freelance gig and the thought of his stock options should help him through unemployment. It's a shame about the strike price, though.
