Thank you. I used to box. I found it to be a very good intellectual exercise that reminded me of both the Art of War and the game of chess (something my trainer also noted). It was an active way to think of the ways of overcoming obstacles in other areas of life.

Very enjoyable! The illustrations really flesh everything out. I particularly love the close reading of detail in the painting in the second link.

Not long ago, a random browse of my public library's ebook offerings led to me reading Anna Freeman's The Fair Fight, a novel primarily about a female boxer in the 18th century. I really liked it--one of those historical novels really well-grounded in the realities of its time and place. And before then, I don't think I knew anything about female boxers of the time.
