Metafilter: don't go to the front page of the site, because all you'll see is a non-stop parade of the world's most racist sandwiches.

The Internet: the majority of it was Nazi propaganda and Harambe memes

There must be a part of me that is perpetually 12 years old because every time one of these leave-it-up-to-the-internet promotions goes oh so horribly wrong I find it downright hilarious. Well, I mean, except for the racist/nazi b.s.

Brie cheese, maybe?

New Zealand is the home of a chain of restaurants called Murder Burger.

McDonald's brought a knife to a gun fight, is what I'm saying.

The sandwiches themselves can't be racist, can they? Sandwichist? Burgerist?

Protip: if you are a band in need of a name, go to Lowe's or Home Depot, randomly select ten or so color swatches (they're free!), head back to your tiny apartment, herb up, and randomly pick out double or triple selections until one clicks. It's surprisingly easy.

If you outlaw racist burgers, racists might eat a salad instead and live longer.

Also, I can't tell what half of these have to do with their title, which is good. I'm happy I'm out of the loop on racist edgelord memes.

I'm surprised no one is suggesting Bruce as the name for all of the ferrys.
posted by mrzarquon at 11:32 PM on July 24, 2016 [2 favorites]

I've already submitted "Bobby McFerryn" and "Brian Ferry", and my partner insists that "Tinkerbell" stands a very good chance if all the good little boys and girls would clap their hands and say that they believe in ferries.

Oh - "Chris de Burgh"! But Transport for NSW may not appreciate a name that could be seen to encourage fare evasion.

Ya know, while they should have seen this coming, I am growing increasingly uneasy with the idea of taking this kind of thing as the voice of "the internet." If anything, it's the voice of the teenage male internet, which tends to be obnoxious, confrontational and attention-seeking. The internet is more than just 4chan.

winterhill: "Why are so many people finding this such a giggle?"

Personally, I'm laughing at the Bernie Socialist Feast and Carbonator and Thin Privalege and Atheist's Delight and Bag of Lettuce. I kinda doubt anyone here is giggling at the racist stuff.
